The classroom competition was close and up until last week Mrs. Payne’s class was ahead by about 50 Box Tops. Then Xavion Chandler-Williams (Ms. Barnes 1st grade) brought in over 1,000 Box Tops making Ms. Barnes class the October classroom winners with 2,266 Box Tops!!! Mrs. Payne’s class was second with 967 and third place was Mrs. Meisling’s class with 937.
Our wonderful box top volunteer, Cecilia Gillish, sent in a shipment of Box Tops that included from last Spring+ Sept/Oct this school year. There were 11,829 Box Tops/bonus points, which is a check for $1,182.90 coming to Indian Prairie!! This means we met our school year goal…already! We have set a new challenge of $3000 for the school year. No doubt, at the rate these children and parents are going, we will have no problem meeting this goal!!
Thank you so much to all that took the time to collect and turn in those box tops. It really is money back to your children!
For more information on the Box Top Fundraiser or to down load a new paper collector, please visit “Box Top” under the “Fundraiser” header on this website.
Thank you to all the parents for participating in the Butter Braid Fundraiser at Indian Prairie!!! We want to make everyone aware that the braids will be sent home with your child this Friday, Nov 8. Please remove them from their backpack, or from the box they are packaged in, and place them in your freezer as soon as they get home.
If you are like many other parents, sometimes you can forget to unload your kid’s backpacks on Fridays – after all, it’s the weekend! There’s nothing worse than opening up a leftover lunch on a Monday morning! This Friday is not the day to ignore backpacks!
If your child takes the bus home, it might be a good idea to have a discussion with them about not forgetting them on the bus, or how to handle them. If you prefer they not have to be responsible for them, perhaps it might be a good day to do a school pick-up if that works into your schedule.
If you should have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email Shelley @ [email protected]
Mrs. Bertch still has some volunteer openings during the Book Fair next week.
11/13 (Wed) 4:00-8:00
11/14 (Thur) 12:00-8:00
8:00-9:00 help before school
She would also love to have the Book Fair open for each class to go through during school, so she’s looking for help during school for a total of 4-5 hours at least during the week.
Please email Mrs. Bertch bertchke
Remember… even an hour of your time will make a difference with this event!!

The PTO needs you! We are urgently looking for a person to chair or co-chair The Holiday Shop. This event typically takes place the 2nd or 3rd week of Dec for 2 days to get all the classes done. If we do not have a chair by the November PTO meeting, we will have to cancel this event. If you are not familiar with the Holiday shop, it is an “open” store that your children go shopping in, looking for that one unique holiday gift to give you. They truly love being able to do this on their own to surprise you. And as a parent, it is a thrill to see what they think you would enjoy!
Always know that you are not alone and the board is here to support you! Please email Ronda srnkuhnert
